1.Describes contemporary personality theories, characterises genetic and neurobiological grounds of personality, explains relation between various personality factors, disease and health, including behaviour that compromises and promotes health.
Skills
1.Explains the most important concepts and relations in personality psychology, understanding the role of personality characterisation in medical treatment.
Competences
1.Applies the acquired knowledge and skills while solving psychology-based situations related to prevention, maintenance and recovery of health.

Personality Psychology. Historical grounds: psychodynamic, humanistic, social cognitive and trait approach. Theories of temperament.

Contemporary trait theories of personality. Genetic and neurobiological basis of personality traits.

Impact of personality traits on the treatment process. Personality traits and health, possible links and causal relationships.

Presentations and discussions. Personality traits related to health-threatening behaviour. Personality traits related to better health and longevity. Resilience and coping strategies.

Inner resources of personality. Activation, maintenance and effective application of inner resources of personality. Stress and basic emotion regulation. Case study.
