About Study Course

Objective

To provide for the acquisition of evidence-based knowledge in pathology, diagnostics and treatment planning of endodontic diseases. To provide knowledge about the relevance of endodontic diseases to pediatric dentistry.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Names the pathologies of endodontic diseases, explains diagnosis, prevention, treatment planning.

Skills

1.Knows how to choose an adequate medication and method for each clinical case where direct pulp coating is required. Able to assess the prognosis of the tooth and retreatment options for teeth filled with gutta-percha, they can be treated. Apexafixation can be performed under microscope control for endodontically treated teeth with unformed root growth and development.

1.Provide integrated learning of treatment planning and clinical skills related to other branches of dentistry.

Attend seminars and practical classes, to participate in patient consultations and in the treatment of paediatric patients. Provide treatment independently (endodontic retreatment of the tooth after removal of gutta-percha, apexification under microscopic control) and presentation of the data. Prepare a brief literature review on an assigned theme.
