Knowledge
1.1. Characterize the symptoms of acute intoxication, the methods of diagnostics and treatment: intoxication with FOS, sedative means and other medications (paracetamol, amphetamin, anticholinergic medications, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, antihypertensive means, digitalis, monoaminooxidase inhibitors, neuroleptics), narcotic substances, acids, alkali, hydrochlorics, carbon monoxide, alcohol and its surrogates, heavy metals, plant poisons, mushrooms, substances forming methemoglobin and hemolytic poisons. 2. Formulate symptoms and treatment principles of venomous snakes’ bites.
Skills
1.1. Apply practical methods of poisonous substance elimination in the prehospital and hospital Admission Department’s phase – stomach lavage, forced diuresis, application of antidotes, where applicable. 2. Commence symptomatic treatment in the prehospital and hospital Admission Department’s phase.
Competences
1.To diagnosticate intoxications and provide the emergency medicine aid for the patients with intoxications in the prehospital and hospital Admission Department’s phase.
