About Study Course

Objective

Acquire and improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills about cardiovascular diseases.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon completion of the cardiology course, using the acquired knowledge and understanding, a resident will be able to: 1) explain the action principles, indications, side effects and contraindications of frequently used drug groups in cardiology; 2) to assess the vital parameters of the patient and objective investigation data; 3) prescribe appropriate tests and interpret their results; 4) define the differential diagnosis; 5) appoint an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Skills

1.Upon completion of the cardiology course resident will be able to: 1) to collect relevant information from the investigation of patients and evaluating the data of further investigations; 2) to apply the appropriate tests and therapeutic approaches; 3) perform an ECG tracing and interpret the results; 4) assist certified invasive cardiologist in coronarography; 5) to present patients with cardiovascular diseases in consilium, professor visits. 6) to appoint a treatment and rehabilitation plan.

Competences

1.Using the acquired knowledge and skills resident will be able to define a diagnosis, make differential diagnosis, interpret test data, develop a structured treatment and rehabilitation plan, logically define and explain the treatment objectives, assess its effectiveness, side effects.
