About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Upon completion of this course, the resident acquires theoretical knowledge of the anatomy of the aorta and its branches and the typical angiographic picture of diseases, risk factors for disease development and treatment. Knows the cardiopulmonary complications of anesthesia.
Skills
1.During the course, practical skills are acquired in the endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms or dissections – occlusion of important blood vessels before or during the procedure, preparation of stent-prostheses, safe evacuation of delivery systems, closing of artery access by manual compression or arterial occlusion. The basic principles of prosthesis leakage treatment will be mastered – balloon remodeling, administration of large stents, trans-catheter leakage lumen embolization (type I leaks), trans-catheter supply and output branch embolization or percutaneous embolization material for type II leakage lesions. Type III leakage treatment - implantation of additional stent prosthesis segments, administration of aortoiliac stent-prosthesis, administration of new bifurcated stent-prostheses.
Competences
1.At the end of the course, the resident will be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the planning of the operation, post-processing of images using a workstation. Recognize vascular anatomical variants that make endovascular treatment technically impossible, suggest alternative therapies. Will be aware of and will be able to treat complications during the procedure - access to arterial, aortic or aneurysm sac dissections, occlusions and ruptures, mesenteric, renal and lower extremity artery embolization, contrast-induced hypersensitivity reaction and nephropathy (CIN).
