About Study Course

Objective

To acquire in-depth knowledge of purulent, congenital respiratory and lung diseases that require surgical treatment, invasive examinations (thoracoscopy, biopsy, puncture).

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.To know indications, contraindications for surgical therapy, invasive examinations (thoracoscopy, biopsy, puncture) in children with purulent lung-pleural diseases, congenital respiratory and lung diseases.

Skills

1.To be able to apply knowledge for preparation of examinations and treatment plan for children with purulent lung - pleural diseases, congenital respiratory and lung diseases.

Competences

1.Use the acquired knowledge and skills to perform the functions of a highly qualified specialist and to advise patients with acquired and congenital lung and respiratory diseases at any age of the child.

During each study course, reports are prepared, clinical cases are reviewed, and the latest literature is reviewed. In addition to seminars, residents conduct research and pedagogical work, as well as attend lectures organised by the Centre for Continuing Education on interdisciplinary problems and theoretical guidelines in medicine and other sciences.
