About Study Course
Objective
Improve and systematise students' understanding of fundamental principles, terminology and methodology of psychosocial rehabilitation; educate on possibilities in psychosocial rehabilitation; stimulate understanding about work in a multidisciplinary team and its principles in psychosocial rehabilitation; educate on the use of psychological help methods, goal setting in psychosocial rehabilitation and preparing psychological help plan for different patient/client groups.
Preliminary Knowledge
Social psychology, clinical psychology, clinical health psychology, health psychology, developmental psychology, professional work and ethics.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Defines and explains the terminology, principles and methodology of psychosocial rehabilitation; explains the possibilities of psychological help; describes the working principles of a multiprofessional and interdisciplinary team in psychosocial rehabilitation and defines strategies for providing psychological assistance in psychosocial rehabilitation according to the patient group.
Skills
1.Uses the terminology acquired in the course; is able to recognize factors influencing the process of rehabilitation; recognizes the main tasks of the specialists of the multi-professional and interdisciplinary team and is able to communicate according to their field of work, is able to choose the methods of psychological help appropriate to the patient group and factors, applies theories and methods of setting psychological help goals and development of psychological plan.
Competences
1.Understands and applies the terminology used in psychosocial rehabilitation; develops cooperation with their own and other professionals in solving client problems by joining the multi-professional and interdisciplinary team work; explains the principles of multiprofessional team work in psychosocial rehabilitation and cooperates with team specialists according to the sphere of activity, applies psychological help methods according to the patient group, develops an appropriate psychological assistance plan and sets the goals of psychological help provision.

1. Development of a psychological rehabilitation plan for one client/patient (case study), group presentation and simulation of one psychological counselling session, indicating the chosen psychological help methods and justifying their choice.
2. Reflection on topics in each lecture/class.
3. Independent reading of compulsory literature.
4. Completing the course feedback questionnaire.

In accordance with the rules of Procedure of the study process of Rīga Stradiņš University - attendance of classes is mandatory. If it is not possible to attend the class for justified reasons, the head of the study course, mg. psych. lect, shall be informed thereof. Zane Gulbe to agree a lesson replay. If 50% of the class volume is delayed, the completion of the study course shall not be included. |

The assessment of the study course will be cumulative. It will consist of basic tasks, the assessment of which is possible only if the additional tasks of all invited lecturers and lecturers and the head of the study course have been successfully fulfilled: • quiz (40%), test in e-environment • case analysis presentation in person/demo in pairs (video) (25%) (20 min in total) • case analysis in writing (25%) (case analysis volume is 5-10 pp), to be submitted in e-environment • Diary (5%), to be submitted in e-environment • visit (5%) Case analysis (drawn in introductory lecture) frame: - basic facts of the history of life - purpose of psychological support/rehabilitation - characterisation of the problem according to the biopsychosocial model - theoretical justification for achieving the objective of the intervention/technique/method used - Consultancy plan (number of consultations, time, planned methods) (select 1 for demonstration in a video) The works (presentation, written work and SSK task) shall be submitted to the e-learning platform, in the section - practical work. The other tasks (if they are to be updated) - to be submitted according to lecturers’ instructions - have been completed with a set-off in order to be admitted to the examination. If artificial intelligence is used for the tests provided for in the framework of the study course, information on this shall be indicated. I note that a mandatory requirement is the provision of assessment/feedback of the study course at the end of the study course on the e-learning platform! |
