About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in anesthesiology, resuscitation, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of urology, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of urologist, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Define cardiopulmonary resuscitation algorithms. Describing methods of ensuring airway patency: manual, airway, tracheal intubation, divided bronchial intubation, laryngeal masks, intubating laryngeal masks, Combitube tubes. Familiarize yourself with artificial lung ventilation: mouth-mouth, mouth-nose, with the Ambu manual ventilator, manually using the face mask of the anesthesia machine. Familiarize yourself with the respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring of the anesthetized and comatose patient, etc. types of monitoring. To describe the principles and stages of general and regional anesthesia in surgery. Explain the principles of acute postoperative pain therapy.

Skills

1.Can apply cardiopulmonary resuscitation in practice, diagnose critical patient conditions, read and interpret monitor results, handle defibrillator-monitor, perform infusion therapy and electrolyte imbalance correction.

Competences

1.To learn the basics and principles and skills of anesthesia and intensive care, as well as emergency medical aid and resuscitation.
