About Study Course

Objective

To provide an opportunity for doctoral students to improve the necessary competence to critically analyze the financial, economic, legal issues of sports and to solve important tasks of research or innovation.

Preliminary Knowledge

Master in sport science, social sciences, management of health.

Knowledge

1.Compare and contrast the development of sports organisations and their mutual cooperation in the context of the international sports system.

2.Compare and contrast the economic, financial and legal challenges of sport and their impact on the development of sport.

1.Independently synthesizes and analyzes the relationships between economic, financial and legal issues in sport and their causal relationships and interactions.

2.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of sports financial, economic and legal issues and how they interact.

To get successful evaluation in study course requirements for differentiated assessment: attitude to education, dynamics of development, active participation in workshops (60%); individual work of student (40%). The student receives a differential grade on the 10-grade scale for the study course. In order to receive a positive evaluation of the study course, the total amount must be at least grade 4. The student receives an assessment in 10-grade scale, summing up a certain number of points, assessing knowledge, skills and competences in the fulfillment of individual tasks (independent work, productive activity in workshops), attitude and development dynamics.

Analyses of research on sport governance – 3 points:

1 point – selection of research is done and formal description performed;

2 points – grouping and explanation of the selected studies is done;

3 points – comparative analysis and classification of the selected studies were performed and the main contradictions for future studies were identified.

Analyses of case study on sport governance – 3 points:

1 point – selection of case is done and formal description performed;

2 points – grouping and explanation of the selected case study is done;

3 points – comparative analysis and classification of the selected case studies were performed and the main contradictions for future studies were identified.

Attitude (attendance, participation in lessons, timely submission of individual works) – 3 points.

Dynamics of individual development - 2 points

1 point – episodic;

2 points – sistematically upward.
