About Study Course

Objective

To prepare pathologists for work in pathology centers and departments with the aim to determine an accurate and modern diagnosis of the disease at autopsy.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knowledge of the purpose of autopsy, methods, documentation, safety of pathologists, material taking procedures for microscopic examinations. Skills to microscopically and macroscopically diagnose the most common diseases, infectious diseases and to evaluate and apply histochemical, immunohistochemical methods due to the diagnostic indications.

Skills

1.Permanently do the autopsy for various causes of death, find out the cause of the death. Manipulations: To perform 10 autopsies, analyse the slides from autopsies, fill all documents and protocols of autopsies. In all residency (in 4 years): performing of at least 200 autopsies.

Competences

1.Detection of the cause of death in time of the autopsy and after slide analysis.

Theoretical test with 3 orally opened questions about the topics discussed in the course of the autopsies and documents, cause of the death. Practical test with analysis of the slides from autopsy, filling of the documents in case of the autopsy.
