About Study Course

Objective

To acquire the necessary knowledge for the profession of an audiologist about language disorders in children. Indicators of language development by age stages from 0 to 7 years. Using a research-based approach, be able to assess language development in children and analyze signs of language impairment. Analyze and integrate assessment results to plan and implement language therapy, respecting the person's individual level of functioning. To carry out scientific research activities within the study course.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon completion of the study course, students shall: • be familiar with language development criteria for children; • list preventive measures to reduce language disorders; • formulate evidence-based knowledge of language disorders in children: causes of impairment, clinical signs, evaluation; • will be able to formulate language development disorder therapy options and techniques to be implemented in collaboration with the client both face-to-face and remotely (telemedicine).

Skills

1.Students will be able to: • to assess the language development; • to assess and diagnose language disorders; • analyse and integrates assessment results with other relevant information to set goals; • implements appropriate language therapy techniques using the necessary materials. Can planning different work style

Competences

1.Upon completion of the study course, students shall: • using the acquired knowledge of language development and language development disorders, will be able to assess language development and diagnose language disorders, plan the necessary evidence-based intervention in cases of language disorders. • based on an analysis of the information obtained, respecting the individual level of functioning of the patient, plan and implement the objectives of its activities.
