Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.To describe the objective, tasks, structure of the Emergency Medical Service; To substantiate the steps of the resuscitation algorithms; To describe the plan for the pre- and early hospital phase of a polytrauma patient; To describe the plan for the pre- and early hospital phase of a shock patient.
Skills
1.To fill in the relevant documentation correctly. To ensure airway patency using manual and instrumental methods.
Competences
1.At the end of the study courses, the medical resident is proficient in the most important methods of emergency medicine, able to make informed decisions to optimise the patient’s condition in the pre- and early hospital phase.

Theoretical preparation for practical training (including for the acquisition of the skills included in the course) using recommended study materials. Clinical skills development on models, dummies, in simulated environment.

|
The acquisition of clinical skills is evaluated by the supervisor of practical training, while the supervisor of the specialty programme organises the examination of theoretical knowledge of study courses (in accordance with RSU Academic Regulations II). Theoretical knowledge is assessed using a variety of assessment methods: multiple-choice tests, essays, descriptions of solutions to clinical problems, case presentations, etc. Skills are assessed through observation of workplace performance, as well as through observation of demonstrations on a dummy or simulator, and through testing of objectively structured clinical skills. Medical residents’ knowledge and skills are assessed with a grade on a 10-point scale.
