About Study Course
Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.About the treatment principles with the aligners: biomechanical particularities; advantages and dis-advantages; Indications for aligners; About the relationship among skeletal, dentoalveolar and soft tissue characteristics of the face; About the necessary diagnostic procedures to plan orthognathic surgery; About the concept of interdisciplinary team, cooperation among professionals in management of the orthognathic patients.
Skills
1.Ability to diagnose craniofacial anomalies requiring orthognathic surgery for correction malocclusion: differences among them, their input in planning an individual outcome, limitations for the prognoses of treatment outcome; Will be able to assess the degree of difficulty of a case for treatment with aligners; Wil be able to explain the treatment principles with aligners to a patient: give recommendations for wear and care of the aligners.
Competences
1.Will be able to distinguish between the easy and difficult cases for treatment with aligners. Will be able to analyse and differentiate the skeletal anomalies and ability to use the information for preparation of the patient for orthognathic surgery including informing patients and their parents about orthognathic surgery.
