About Study Course

Objective

Acquisition of knowledge in the field of healthcare law and improved skills in applying law in a healthcare management organization.

Preliminary Knowledge

Knowledge of health care organization and management is necessary to understand the regulation of law. Knowledge of the English language is required for working with health care law sources and research materials.

Analysis of the Court’s judgment on the case in the field of healthcare. In independent work, the student chooses a specific court judgment, describes the event assessed in the judgment, lists the most relevant legal provisions applied, describes the nature of the judgment ruling and draws personal conclusions (The conclusions are based on the lessons learned in the study course, e.g. whether the correct legal norms have been applied, whether there are inconsistencies between other legal norms, assessment by interpretation methods or hierarchy of legal norms, etc.).

There is a possibility to present the work with the report if the subject is related.

Research work has been carried out independently on a current issue of the field of law related to health care. Scientific quality of the report 50%.

Ability to present a report and answer questions - 50%.

Preferred volume of the report (excluding cover page, table of contents and list of literature used) 7-12 LP.

The student chooses a topic of interest to himself or herself and conducts an independent study of a specific current, problem or process, assessing it in relation to the application of legal provisions, the existence of legal weddings or an existing conflicting legal framework. The report shall contain a description of the situation, a study of the legal framework, publications binding on the provision of information, an analysis and assessment of the personal situation and conclusions.

There is the possibility of presenting the work in independent classes, presenting the report and answering questions respectively - representing 50% of the assessment.

The report is credited if it includes an overview of the question, an analysis of personal information, and a conclusion. According to the evaluation of the report, a final assessment is posted, an additional assessment is increased if the report conforms to the priority themes (offered at the beginning of the study course in discussion with students) or includes an analysis of case law.
