About Study Course

Objective

The aim of the course is to promote the involvement of the student in out-of-study activities, which promote personal and professional development, civic participation and strengthening the image of Rīga Stradiņš University. The course offers the opportunity to obtain ECTS credits for activities that reflect the student’s active participation in social processes.

In order to receive an assessment of the study course, students need to accumulate 3 ECTS during the academic year. ECTS may be accumulated for the following non-study activities: 1) attendance of guest lectures, seminars, discussions, conferences of the Latvian merogist – 1 ECTS 10 events – 1 ECTS: Guest lectures, seminars, discussions, passive attendance of Latvian-scale conferrals, work as a volunteer/am at one of the events organised by RSU (conferences, workshops, discussions, RSU career and wellbeing Centre events. (1 submission, students must present descriptions of activities) 2) participation in recruiting activities of young students (exhibition ’School’, RSU messenger programme, Open door Day, lamp, etc.) - for each - 1 ECTS 3) Active participation in an international scientific conference with a report - 2 ECTS 4) participation in an international scientific conference - 1 ECTS 5) participation and awards in international industry-related competitions - 2 ECTS 6) participation in RSU student Union and/or mentor programmes of the Department of International Communications as a mentor – 1 ECTS 7) participation in RSU self-government board – 2 ECTS 8) participation as an activist in RSU student self-government events – 1 ECTS 9) voluntarily in a medical institution (50 hours) – 2 ECTS 10) participation in new medical academy classes – 1 ECTS 11) participation in vertically integrated projects – 1 ECTS 12) participation in RSU scientific groups – 1 ECTS 13) The author or co-author of the publication Semper Anticus edition – 2 ECTS 14) work as a volunteer/am in one of RSU organised for events (conferences, workshops, discussions, RSU career and wellbeing Centre events) – 1 ECTS 15) other activities (prior co-ordination with the course manager).
