About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in radiology for children with various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. To provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of intensive care for children, which is necessary for working with gastroenterological patients in a multidisciplinary pediatric hospital. To ensure the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in neonatology. To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the differential diagnosis and therapy of acute digestive tract infections and viral hepatitis in children, to learn the epidemiology of intestinal tract infections.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Timely selection and application of diagnostic methods for infectious diseases of children's digestive tract, familiarity with the rules of epidemiology. Orientate yourself in the early diagnosis of pathologies of the neonatal period, the basic principles of care for a newborn child. Determine the indications and prerequisites for parenteral nutrition, its implementation, monitoring, complications for patients in the intensive care unit and over a long period of time. Correction of internal environmental reactions, electrolytes, coagulation disorders and goals of therapy. Enteral and parenteral therapy options. Acquired therapy of acute liver failure. Orientate yourself in the basic principles of radiological diagnostics.

Skills

1.Diagnosis of intestinal infections, basic principles of treatment, ability to apply knowledge about the spread of intestinal infections in the pediatric profile department and work in the emergency department. Indications of laboratory tests, methodology, data evaluation, screening tests for pathologies. Calculate parenteral nutrition schemes and infusion therapy for a patient with digestive tract and liver pathologies, multidisciplinary approach and tactics in cases of emergency gastroenterological situations. To learn to choose the optimal visual diagnostic method for a specific pathology, to be able to evaluate the manifestations of digestive tract diseases in visual diagnostic examinations.

Competences

1.Self-diagnosis and differential diagnosis of infectious diseases in children with digestive tract pathologies. Independently examine and treat newborns with diseases of the digestive tract. Independently carry out parenteral nutrition for patients with diseases of the digestive tract and liver, provide emergency assistance to pediatric patients of various ages. To independently make decisions about the need for radiological examination in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal and biliary tract diseases.
