About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills on lasers in aesthetic medicine in accordance with the requirements of the specialty of aesthetic medicine in order to prepare the physician for certification in accordance with the regulatory documents of the LR.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will know the basics and dangers of the interaction between light equipment and tissue. Understand the parameters of lasers. Knows the relationship between the wavelength of light used, the duration of the pulse and the way energy is emitted. Will know the security measures to protect staff and patient according to the type of laser used. Will know the types of lasers used in medicine. Will know and understand the energy absorption curve. You will be able to differentiate superficial vascular pathology from pigment pathology/dispigmentation, distinguish molasses from rosacea. Able to recognise pigment pathology. Knows contraindications for the treatment of pigment pathology. Understand the pathogenesis of the scarring process, recognize different types of scars and are familiar with their correction possibilities.

Skills

1.Knows how to choose the right treatment for the patient (surgical, laser or otherwise). Is able to identify an appropriate device for correcting a particular pathology. Can apply selective photothermolysis and ablative methods. Can apply patient and personnel safety measures to smoke evacuators, appropriate protective masks, insert eye flaps).

Competences

1.Able to use the acquired knowledge in practice. Can explain pathology correction options/principles/options to the patient. Can explain the potential risks to the patient. Knows how to select and apply appropriate protective measures to yourself, staff, patient.
