About Study Course

Objective

To provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of pediatric abdominal surgery and oncology necessary for working in a multidisciplinary team of pediatric gastroenterologists and pediatric surgeons. To recognize and timely diagnose acute diseases of the abdominal organs in children, as well as to get acquainted with the surgical aspects of the treatment of chronic diseases of the digestive tract.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Recognize the symptoms of acute surgical diseases of the abdominal cavity and organize the necessary diagnostics and surgical assistance. To evaluate the possibilities and application of surgical methods in the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the digestive tract. Outline the indications and prerequisites for diagnostic laparoscopy.

Skills

1.To orient correctly in determining the indications for diagnostic procedures and manipulations in children's abdominal surgery and in patients with diseases of the digestive tract, as well as to evaluate the risk factors of manipulations; communication with patients, parents and colleagues also in difficult and acute situations. The ability to attract pediatric surgeons in a timely manner in the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the digestive tract.
