Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knows the of functioning hypothalamic-pituitary-testicle axis, it's normal and pathophysiology. Is familiar with the physiology of this axis's hormonal secretion, its role in reproductive health; Knows examination methods of hypothalamic-pituitary-testicle axis; Is familiar with the physiology and pathophysiology of normal and pathological development of male puberty; Knows the hypothalamic, pituitary and adrenal diseases related to the male reproductive system. Their diagnostic possibilities, treatment; Knows different types of hypogonadism, their diagnostic and differential diagnostics, treatment possibilities; Understands the impact of other endocrine disorders (diabetes and thyroid diseases) on male reproductive health.
Skills
1.Diagnoses and treats hypothalamic-pituitary-testicle axis's diseases (hypopituitarism, LH or FSH deficiency, hyperprolactinemia); Diagnoses constitutionally delayed puberty. Diagnoses and treats pathological delayed puberty; Diagnoses and treats adrenal diseases that affect male reproductive health (adrenal hyperplasia, etc.); Diagnoses and treats various types of hypogonadism (primary, secondary, delayed, iatrogenic); Evaluates the impact of other endocrine disorders on the functioning of the male reproductive system, assesses the need for correction.
Competences
1.Selects the most optimal examination plan for endocrine diseases related to the reproductive health in accordance with particular case; Evaluates the obtained results of the examinations, prescribes adequate therapy and, if necessary, invites other specialists in the process of treatment; Assesses a man's general health condition and its effects on endocrine and reproductive health.
