About Study Course

Objective

Develop the ability of the postgraduate students to conduct research, ability to independently define and critically analyse complex scientific and professional issues within the sector of social policy and social work; ability to integrate knowledge of various areas and contribute to the creation of new knowledge and to the development of methods used in research or professional activity, demonstrate understanding and ethical responsibility for the possible impact of the research results or professional activity on the environment and society.

Preliminary Knowledge

Bachelor's level competence in matters of the social work sector and completion of the study courses of the Master's degree programme “Social work”.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will be able to apply the methodology for social and sociological research; outline the theoretical justification for social work, research and practice; will be able to choose and apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative research methods in the research.

Skills

1.Will be able to identify societal and major social challenges; develop a research plan; analyse and systematise the latest scientific findings; will be able to analyse and discuss the results of the research; will be able to publish the results of scientific activities.

Competences

1.Will be able to carry out research activities in the social welfare sector, contributing to the development of professional knowledge and practice.
