Knowledge
1.Students define the examination of the oral cavity and the diagnosis of diseases; documents and describes the patient's medical history; presents a treatment plan; identifies recommendations in the prevention of oral diseases; explains infection control standards; recognizes the norms of professional ethics.
Skills
1.The student obtains and documents the patient's medical history, paying attention to medication use, bad habits, oral care habits; respects the confidentiality of data protection; perform an examination of the neck lymph nodes, temporomandibular joints; perform a full periodontal examination; performs index calculation; documents and evaluates the obtained results; explains and demonstrates the treatment plan; provides recommendations in the prevention of oral diseases; performs polishing of dental crowns, laying of sealants, application of various fluoride applications; perform supragingival and subgingival (up to 5 mm in pockets) instrumentation using specialized instruments; carries out disinfection, sterilization control; follow the use of infection control barriers.
Competences
1.Students are able to independently collect anamnesis, evaluate, calculate, reasonedly interpret and analyze the available information; able to explain and offer advanced oral prevention and treatment solutions to the patient; able to remove plaque and tartar using various tools; able to provide infection and sterilization control.

Practice book, presentation of work done in practice, assessment from the practice supervisor.
During the 1st semester the following subjects should be studied: history of lymph nodes, examination of the lymph nodes, examination of the tempo-mandibular joint, various hygiene indices, caries spread and intensity indices.
During the 2nd semester you have to master the following: structure and functions of periodontal indexes, periodontal condition evaluation indexes, bleeding indices and technique and application of lanterns.
In the 3rd and 4th semesters - report on each patient (accepted in practical classes), showing the work done, self-assessment of the work done, recommendations for the patient, to present the patient to the lecturer. Reports presentation and a report on the work done. Specific recommendations for every patient. Practice evaluation from the head of the clinic. Report about every patient in practical lessons, where they write work done, self-esteem and recommendations. Submission of the summer internship report, completed according to the regulations. Fill in the course evaluation questionnaire.

|
The compulsory participation of students in practical classes is assessed in all semesters, following the rules of Clinical (practical) classes. During the 1st and 2nd semester 2 tests and 2colloquia on the topics of the lessons. Passed if given 80% correct answers. At the end of the semester, an test that includes a written and practical test of what has been learned during the semester.
During the 3rd and 4th semesters work with the patient in the clinic, where the following aspects are evaluated:
• outward appearance (special clothing, footwear, hair arrangement, nail length, jewelry);
• organization of workplace (choice of materials and tools, quantity), observation of infection control;
• communication with patient (listening skills, information and motivation);
• collection of medical history;
• indexing, probing skills;
• diagnosis and removal of tartar;
• teeth polishing, flossing and selection of application.
Acquired knowledge in Dental disease courses: • Dental disease prevention, radiology, periodontics, dental public health, oral health promotion and education, oral pathology, communication with the patient children's dentistry, therapeutic dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, orthodontics, dental anatomy.
In the 3rd semester, evaluation of the summer internship report, in which presentation, content, invested work, attitude towards the task are evaluated.
