About Study Course

Objective

To acquire knowledge about microbiology, about the classification of micro-organisms, the structure of micro-organisms, pathogenicity, virulence factors and formation of the mechanisms of resistance, methods of diagnosis of micro-organisms (traditional, classic and modern).

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.As a result of completing the study course, the medical resident will gain knowledge about the classification of micro-organisms, the pathogenicity of micro-organisms and virulence factors, the methods of laboratory examinations and the possibilities of application thereof.

Skills

1.As a result of completing the study course, the resident will be able to use laboratory examination methods, the results of laboratory examination of patients and environmental samples, when conducting epidemiological investigations of cases of contracting the disease.

Competences

1.After successful completion of the study course, the medical resident reaches the level of competence of a certified public health physician and can independently or in the presence of a specialist determine the necessary amount of laboratory examinations by conducting an epidemiological investigation of a case of contracting the disease.
