About Study Course
Objective
Ensure the education of senior sports coaches in fitness specialisation in conducting group classes, teaching the terminology of fitness in Latvian and English, developing and strengthening awareness of the specificities of the field of fitness; teaching a variety of fitness group lesson methods and exercises applied, as well as lesson building principles.
Preliminary Knowledge
Knowledge of sports theory, pedagogy, sports pedagogy, sports didactic, psychology or sports psychology, anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. Study courses and knowledge in sports theory, training didactics, pedagogy have been acquired.

Students shall carry out the group work independently in lecture of the 2nd semester in accordance with the lecturer’s assignment, in which video with improperly performed exercise movements of the lecturer shall be analysed and a verbal, tactile offer for correcting these movements shall be created. Each group presents their created offers orally in this lecture. Receives feedback from the lecturer. In semester 2, however, students within groups perform verbal and tactile correction of the movements analysed in lesson by adjusting the performance of each other’s exercises. |
