About Study Course

Objective

The aim of the qualification examination is to test and evaluate the knowledge, skills and competences acquired in the study program.

Preliminary Knowledge

In order to successfully acquire the study course “qualification examination”, the student needs the following previously acquired knowledge, skills and competences:

Knowledge:

  • knowledge of human anatomy and physiology;
  • knowledge of the principles and training methods for developing physical fitness;
  • understanding the planning principles of training programmes for different target groups;
  • understanding the impact of diet, renewal and lifestyle on fitness and health.

Skills:

  • ability to assess the physical condition and functional fitness of the client;
  • ability to develop and adapt individual training programmes;
  • ability to select and apply appropriate training methods;
  • ability to analyse information from professional literature and research.

Competencies:

  • ability to plan and organise the training process independently;
  • ability to make sound professional decisions in dealing with clients;
  • ability to communicate and engage professionally with clients and other sports and health professionals.

The student prepares independently for the State examination by performing the following tasks:

  1. Conditions for the implementation of Literature introduction
    • : studies the literature, studies and e-resources of the study course in preparation for the theoretical part.
    • Evaluation criteria: assess understanding, accuracy and ability to link theoretical knowledge to practice (see evaluation rubric in e-studies).

  2. of situational tasks and training plans: draw up an individual or group lesson plan according to the age, sex, fitness, state of health and objectives of the client; the plan shall be prepared within one hour. Evaluation criteria: assess the relevance of the plan to the client’s needs, methodological validity and adaptability (see e-learning rubric).
    • Demonstrating lesson leadershipfulfillment conditions: conduct a short group lesson (20 min) or demonstrate exercise, explain training methods and exercise specifics.
    • Evaluation criteria: assess lesson planning, exercise demonstration, safety and communication with the client (see e-learning rubric).

Objective:

Independent work prepares the student independently:

  • to acquire and systematise theoretical knowledge;
  • develop and justify training programmes;
  • demonstrate practice management skills in preparation for the National examination.

The completion of the study course “qualification examination” is assessed in a 10-point system. A positive rating is given at least 4 points. The national examination shall be combined and shall take place for two days, consisting of:

  • theoretical part,
  • specialisation part (practical classes or development of a training programme),

1. The theoretical part of

  • the student draws 3 questions from the question bank and prepares answers within one hour.
  • Sets out oral replies to the Commission and answers clarifying questions.
  • The response time shall not exceed 30 minutes.
  • Questions cover theoretical knowledge acquired during studies.

2. Part of the specialisation

  • in “strength and training area training coach”: the student draws up a lesson plan (1 hour), outlines and justifies exercises, workout methods to be applied, answers 2 theory questions.
  • In the specialisation “coach of individual and functional area classes” and “coach of various groups of fitness classes”: the student conducts a short group class (20 min) or draws up a lesson plan (1 hour), justifies training methods, demonstrates exercises and answers 2 theory questions.
  • Students answer KGB questions; the test is recorded on video.
  • Questions and situational tasks shall be referred at least one month before the examination.
  • The student is prohibited from using electronic equipment.

3. Evaluation and scales

each part of the national examination shall be evaluated by the members of the Commission in a 10-point system, then the overall assessment shall be calculated using percentage of the significance of the parts:

Theoretical part examination 30%, conducting a lesson or training programme 50%, specialisation questions 20%.
