About Study Course
Objective
To acquire competence to promote health in an educational institution: to know theoretical models of health promotion and education and how they are applied in practice – in the study process and extracurricular work. To know different approaches to implementing health education. To understand education on healthy lifestyle and environment in maintaining health.
Preliminary Knowledge
Knowledge of basic principles of pedagogy, psychology, construction and functioning of the human body, health promotion and organisation of physical activities. Skills to plan, organise, manage and evaluate the learning process by selecting appropriate learning methods and means according to the age and individual needs of learners. Ability to use information and communication technologies, analyse and interpret data, provide a safe and inclusive learning environment, comply with professional ethics and legal requirements, cooperate with learners, colleagues and other stakeholders, as well as independently improve professional competence and take responsibility for decisions taken and results achieved.

1.Is knowledgeable about the content of health and physical activity training, theoretical models of health promotion and understands the importance of health-influencing factors, lifestyle choices and health-enhancing educational environments.

2.Is familiar with the forms, methods and didactic approaches for planning, organising and implementing the training process for health promotion and education to ensure meaningful learning process and out-of-hours activities.

3.Is familiar with approaches to evaluating learning outcomes and student growth achieved in the health promotion process, including methods of involving pupils in the evaluation process and using the results obtained to improve the learning process.

Skills
1.Plan, develop and model health-promoting projects and the health education learning process by selecting learning strategies, organisation forms and methods appropriate to the results to be achieved, the needs of learners and the development of health literacy.

2.Adapt and integrate life-proximity situations, methodological materials and digital learning resources into the health education process in order to promote self-guided learning, participation and improvement of health literacy for learners.

The selection of appropriate teaching methods, techniques and means of learning shall be justified at work, ensuring their conformity with the needs of the learners and the acquisition of the educational content. At work, the student confirms the ability to plan, argue and justify health-promoting activities in the educational environment. Fulfilment conditions:

Job description of “portfolio presentation” : In the final examination, the student presents a portfolio of work developed during the study course demonstrating the acquired knowledge, skills and competences in the field of health promotion. During the presentation, the student shall collect and analyse the work developed during the course, justify the solutions used, evaluate the results achieved and reflect on the acquired professional experience and development of competences. Fulfilment conditions:
Evaluation criteria:
Rating scale: (10 points) The examination is credited if the portfolio is complete, complies with the requirements of the study course, the presentation is clear, structured and reasoned, the student demonstrates the knowledge, skills and competences achieved in the study course convincingly. |
