About Study Course

Objective

To provide knowledge of medical control to people engaged in physical exercise and sport; health problems that may arise from sport; on the assessment of health-related physical fitness indicators for those involved in sports-related physical activities.

Preliminary Knowledge

Human Anatomy, Physiology, Sport for Health, Kinesiology, Internal diseases, Traumathology and Orthopaedics.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Understand the importance of medical control for different groups of people engaged in physical exercise and sport, be able to characterise health-related physical fitness level and methods of assessment, be aware of sports-specific injuries, be able to characterise risk factors for sports injuries, be able to characterise pathological conditions occurring in sport.

Skills

1.Will be able to assess and evaluate health-related physical fitness indicators and make recommendations to improve them, will be able to recognise and assess the most common risk factors for sports injuries and health and make recommendations to prevent them.

Competences

1.Will be able to identify and explain to their patients the existing level of physical fitness and recommend appropriate physical exercises to raise it, as well as make recommendations to their patients engaged in sport for health promotion, on options for improving physical fitness, on options for reducing sports injuries and other pathological conditions.
