About Study Course

Objective

The aim of the program is to provide students with opportunities to acquire and improve theoretical and practical knowledge in field of urgent and elective traumatology and orthopaedics and septic surgery, accordingly to children surgeon specialty requirements, to prepare doctor for certification examination.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.• Indications for conservative or surgical treatment in patient with acute musculoskeletal disease in variety of patients age • Examination and treatment plan for patients with acute musculoskeletal disease • Particularities for preparing patient for surgery, highlighting indications for urgent and immediate surgery in traumatology,orthopaedics and septic surgery, as well as learning basic pre- and after surgery patient care principles • To able to navigate in field of traumatology, orthopaedics, septic surgery, recognize often used diagnostic methods, surgical instruments and surgical treatment methods • Detailed theoretical knowledge about urgent states in acute and chronic musculoskeletal system diseases • Conservative and surgical treatment methods in urgent states in traumatology and orthopaedics and septic surgery • Diagnostic methods used in traumatology, orthpaedics and septic surgery, instruments, devices, practical diagnostic and treatment skills, surgical treatment methods for patients with various age • Make examination and treatment plan for patient with acute musculoskeletal disease • Give highly qualified urgent help for patients with acute musculoskeletal disease.

Skills

1.• give highly qualified urgent diagnostics and help for patients of various age with acute musculoskeletal disease or in case of exacerbation in chronic case • to be able to give adequate analgesic therapy after musculoskeletal surgery • apply corrective cast • do closed fracture and dislocation reduction • do incision and drainage in case of purulent skin, subcutaneous or bone disease.

Competences

1.• give high qualified urgent help to patients with acute musculoskeletal disease of various age (with or without additional diseases), purulent skin, subcutaneous and bone diseases.
