About Study Course

Objective

Promote the development of the professional competence of students in the organisation and management of teaching and learning of movement toys and games, taking into account individual opportunities of learners and compliance with the learning outcomes to be achieved, as well as enable students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in modelling variations of movement toys and games with facilitated or changed regulations and load regulation, organisation of activities of learners with facilitated or changed regulations.

Preliminary Knowledge

Study courses acquired: Educational psychology for teachers, professional skills of teachers, socio-emotional learning, legal aspects of the pedagogical process, sports theory, innovative information communication technologies and methods in sports teaching, biomechanics and ergonomics, general and physical activity biochemistry, general and age physiology, physical activity physiology, human anatomy and dynamic anatomy, environmental health, health-promoting physical activity. The basics and methodology of exercise.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will be familiar with the origin, history and development of movement toys and games in Latvia and the world.

2.Know the methodology for teaching techniques and strategic techniques for movement toys and games with relaxed or changed rules.

Skills

1.Practically plan, manage motion games and games with relaxed or changed rules.

2.Apply customized rules for motion play and play activities to appropriate children’s ages and abilities.

Competences

1.Ability to plan, manage an interdisciplinary and individualized learning process.

2.Ability to critically analyse and evaluate pedagogical techniques, tools, methods applied.

3.Ability to provide feedback on both the learner and their activities.
