About Study Course

Objective

Assure theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquisition in transfusiology.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Use of knowledge about principles of replacement haemocomponent therapy in patients of any age, newborn transfusiology principles, specific requirement for blood components in of neonatal transfusiology. List indications for blood products in case of different transfusion policy.

Skills

1.Determining of blood group and rhesus, determining of HLA antigens, principles of therapeutic cytapheresis, to participate in the performance of cytapheresis procedures.

Competences

1.Students must master the requirements for selection of donors, to know transfusion reactions, to learn the ABO and HLA system, to learn the requirements for blood components in paediatric haematology, their relatives, to collect necessary information – patient history.
