About Study Course

Objective

Create understanding of challenges and solutions of small states and secondary actors in modern diplomatic environment.

Preliminary Knowledge

BA level understanding of international system, theories of international relations and foreign policy making.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Will orient yourself in the challenges of small countries' foreign policy and the available solutions and examples, will be able to assess how small countries can implement a successful foreign policy.

Skills

1.Students will be able to understand the limits of small states in international politics, as well as the importance of use of strategy.

Competences

1.Students will be able to carry out qualitative research on the foreign policy of small states.

As part of the study course, students will have to learn the mandatory literature (up to 50 pages of text for each lesson), write two essays on the given topic, successfully complete the seminars, write a report, make a presentation of the report, participate in the simulation of diplomatic negotiations, and successfully pass the final exam of the course. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
