About Study Course
Objective
To provide the medical residents of the specialty in dermatology, venereology with training in evaluation of the findings of different laboratory examinations and in conditions for collection and transportation of samples.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Demonstrates the acquisition and development of in-depth understanding for the following topics: 1. Parasitological examinations: Lyme borreliosis IgM (IFA), Lyme borreliosis IgG (IFA), blood parasites (malaria and filariasis), toxoplasmosis (IgM and IgG), Trichinella spiralis (IFA), and Toxocara canis (IFA). 2. Diagnosis of hepatitis. 3. Diagnosis of HIV/AIDS: IFA to detect anti HIV ½, Western Blot confirmatory diagnosis, IFA to detect antigen HIV 1, IFA to detect p24 antigen, Express HIV1/2 test. 4. Diagnosis of AIDS opportunistic and other infections: CMV (total and IgM), EBV (IgM, IgG and EBNA), Herpes simplex (IgM and IgG), Varicella zoster (IgM), Rubella (IgM), infectious mononucleosis (heterogeneous antibodies). 5. Immunological examinations. 6. Serological tests: Widal reaction, AR to diagnose brucellosis, PHAR with Yersinia enterocolitica. ptcb with micro method, PHAR in S.sonnei and S.flexn with micro method. 7. Bacteriological examinations: blood, lumbar puncture samples, throat culture, urine, pus, discharge, puncture samples, sputum, nose culture, faeces, anaerobic microorganisms, dysbiosis tests, determination of antibiotic sensitivity of the isolated microorganisms.
Skills
1.To take the samples to be examined and to evaluate the findings of laboratory examinations.
Competences
1.After obtaining the certificate to be competent in working as a dermatologist and venereologist, to apply the knowledge acquired during the study process, to recognize and differentiate the skin and sexually transmitted diseases from other pathologies.
