About Study Course

Objective

To provide an opportunity to deepen knowledge of acute nervous system damage diagnosis and emergency treatment in order to be able to provide emergency medical assistance to acute adult patients with neurological diseases at the stage of pre-hospital and hospital admission department.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The student will know: 1. Symptoms, syndromes and possible differential diagnoses of damage to the nervous system. 2. Medical tactics in case of acute damage to the nervous system. 3. Methods of lowering increased intracranial pressure.

Skills

1.The student will be able to: • Assess the patient's consciousness, incl. according to the Glasgow Coma Scale. • Perform a lumbar puncture. • Interpret the symptoms of damage to the nervous system. • To evaluate the results of the liquid dynamic test and analysis of the liquid. • Interpret neuroradiological examinations. • Formulate indications for urgent hospitalization and/or outpatient treatment under the supervision of a family doctor.

Competences

1.Competencies in neurology I - examine the patient under the supervision of a certified specialist, justify and formulate a diagnosis, draw up a treatment plan. Assist in manipulation.
