About Study Course

Objective

Raise awareness of the cultural and religious diversity and their impact on modern society. Develop tolerance and indulgence against manifestation of cultural and religious diversity in professional activity.

Preliminary Knowledge

Prerquisites are not mandatory.

1.Having completed the study course student is able to describe and tell about the most common religions in Latvia.

1.Having completed the study course student is able to assess and explain the interrelationship between religious practices, human lifestyles and current processes in society.

1.Strengthen professional competence – orientation on client, understanding and cooperation between people with various religious beliefs.

Educational excursion (at the students' choice) to one of the traditional denominations in Latvia or to an organization of other religions (synagogue, Buddhist center, Krishnaite community). In an authentic environment, students are introduced to the history of the tradition, the most important rituals, the inclusion of the community in today's current events, and time is allocated for free discussion.
