Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of mutual interconnection of sports medicine as a multidisciplinary field of medicine and pharmacology. Theoretical and practical knowledge about the impact of medications of different pharmacological groups on sports performance and potential side effects, knowledge about legislation and leading national and international anti-doping organisations, main operating principles and anti-doping measures.
Skills
1.Ability to reasonably select the most suitable medications in treatment of patients in case of diseases or injuries, to draft documents for obtaining Therapeutic Use Exemption, if necessary.
Competences
1.Competence in solving different clinical cases and application of the obtained knowledge in sports medicine physician’s practice.

|
Theoretical knowledge is acquired in 4 seminars and individual literature studies. During practical classes students acquire knowledge of the impact of medications of different pharmacological groups on sports performance under the supervision of a physician eligible to provide such training, the potential side effects, anti-doping measures and doping control procedure. A resident acquires doping control procedure for blood and urine tests.

|
At the end of the study course the head of the residency programme evaluates the acquired theoretical knowledge in written and oral form. The written test shall be assessed according to the 10-point grading system.
