About Study Course

Objective

To present the basics of statistical data processing, statistical methods and the possibilities for their application, to develop the skills to process and analyse the data obtained from the psychological study and to interpret the results.

Preliminary Knowledge

General psychology, knowledge relevant to the level of secondary education in information and mathematics.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students define basic concepts of mathematical statistics, describe techniques and methods of mathematical statistics, name and describe basic principles of data analysis in Excel, Jasp

2.Manage data types and measures

Skills

1.Knows how to enter and encode data

2.Is able to calculate empirical distributions, their statistical characteristics and is able to produce graphic representations

Competences

1.Students are able to decide on the use of appropriate data processing methods in each particular situation, to prove the hypotheses put forward or to clarify research questions

2.Student is able to recognise elements of mathematical statistics and their application in research publications
