About Study Course
Objective
To develop for students an understanding of the nature and basic concepts, forms and functions of rights, of the specificities of the legal system and legal science sector of Latvia, of the legal status and legal relations of a sports educator (coach) in the work of a sports educator (coach), as well as to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competences in the fields of professional and sports ethics, including codes of professional and sports ethics, as well as to practise respectful and fair treatment in communication.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Recognises and explains the structure and basic issues of the Latvian legal system, the laws and regulations governing international and Latvian sports education system, as well as sports education and professional activities of the coach.

2.Formulate and outline the basic principles of sport and professional ethics, explain the guidelines for codes of ethics. Demonstrate and understand respectful and fair treatment in communication.

1.Describe the legal system and legal norms of Latvia and use basic legal theories and ethical concepts to be used in the work of sports pedagogy.

Aspects of law in professional activities |

|
Include the legal aspects of the presentation in a qualification chosen in professional activity, demonstrating the acquired competences. Students in a group or individually prepare a presentation on the issues of the chosen professional qualification rights in accordance with the directions offered by teaching staff. In preparing the presentation, the student finds and uses an appropriate court ruling, scientific papers or research on the chosen topic. The presentation shall be submitted to the e environment and presented to the group. |

Role of rights and ethical aspects in professional activities |

Include the legal, ethical aspects of the presentation in a qualification chosen in professional activities. Demonstrating acquired competencies. As part of the seminar, students work in groups analyzing codes of ethics and various situation tasks. Students actively participate in a discussion on the topic of each class. |
