Objective
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Understand the pathogenesis of eye lesions and their possible diagnosis, specific treatment in different endocrinopathies. Know the indications when a patient should be referred to an ophthalmologist.
Skills
1.Able to assess an ophthalmologist’s opinion in different endocrinopathies. Know how to assess the stage of diabetic retinopathy and the indications for an ophthalmologist consultation and possible laser coagulation or intravitreal administration of endothelial growth factor inhibitors according to fundus oculi photograph or the description of fundus oculi picture, as well as according to the description of optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the retina.
Competences
1.Ability to independently apply the acquired knowledge in the management of ophthalmological problems in endocrine diseases.

|
Participate in the care of patients with ocular manifestations of endocrine disorders, acquiring knowledge and skills in a specialised ophthalmology department and outpatient ophthalmology clinics. Participate in procedures involving the diagnosis and treatment of endocrinopathies. Participate in planned seminars. Prepare clinical presentations for seminars. Keep up to date with the latest literature and prepare literature reviews. Understand the diagnostic and treatment features of ocular pathology in endocrine diseases. Update the resident's knowledge for obtaining a certificate in the specialty.
