About Study Course
Objective
The acquisition of basic nutritional knowledge can contribute to enhanced athletic performance across a range of physical activities.
Preliminary Knowledge
Biology, Basics of Sports Physiology, basic knowledge in Nutrition training.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
1.Outline general knowledge of the importance of nutrition for different physical loads
Presentation on the selected topic
2.Name popular diets and their impact on athletes’ performance
3.Describe the importance of different fluids to physical activity
4.Name key anti-doping principles and the risks and benefits of sport supplements.
5.List different supplements and their potential impact on athletic outcomes.
6.List different nutrition strategies to be used for weight adjustment in physically active people
Skills
1.Knows how to apply nutrient planning to a particular sport
Case study presentation
2.Knows how to use official resources to identify banned substances in sport
3.Knows how to apply critical thinking skills to scientific paper analysis
4.Knows how to apply fluid admissions strategies during long periods of physical activity
Competences
1.Able to calculate energy consumption of different sports and choose the appropriate diet
