About Study Course

Objective

Should know dental radiological examination methods, radiation safety, exposure to vital organs. Should know normal X-ray anatomy and pathology, X-ray diagnostics of teeth, face - jaw area.

Preliminary Knowledge

Anatomy, Physics and Chemistry.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon completion of the course the students will have acquired basic knowledge of radiological examination methods, radiation safety, radiation to vital organs, normal x-ray anatomy and diagnosis of developmental disturbances, pathological processes and traumata in jaw - face region.

Skills

1.Upon completion of the course the students will be able to perform intraoral dental X-rays using bisector, parallel, interproximal, occlusal method and variations during endodontic treatment of teeth, radiovideography.

Competences

1.Upon completion of the course the students will be able to use in practical work the results obtained in x-ray examinations for clinical diagnosis and choose the optimal treatment.

Active participation in practical classes - acquisition of intraoral X-ray examination methods and analysis of the obtained X-rays. Completion of assigned homework. Acquisition of normal X-ray anatomy - jaw-tooth area and diagnostics of pathologies. Testing the knowledge of radiological examinations in clinical diagnostics. Written exam at the end of the course. The exam was passed with 55% correct answers.
