About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the study course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills for effective contact with children and complex patients in dental situations, taking into account their age, psychological and emotional characteristics, as well as to develop the ability to apply appropriate communication and behavioural strategies to reduce fear and anxiety.
Preliminary Knowledge
Highschool level knowledge in comunication psychology.

1.Name the main features of verbal and non-verbal contact, their manifestations and importance in children’s dentistry

1.Will be able to adapt oral and dental care recommendations to a child’s learning abilities

3.Able to apply appropriate communication tactics (words and behaviours) in the clinic to reduce patient fear and anxiety
4.Is able to adapt oral and dental care recommendations according to the child’s age, state of health and learning abilities
Competences
1.Able to engage professionally and empathically with children and other complex patients in dental situations, taking into account their age, state of health and psychological characteristics
2.Demonstrate the ability to adapt communication strategies to different clinical situations, providing a safe and understanding environment for the patient.

|
A written final exam-test on topics learned in lessons. In order to pass the test, 55% of the correct answers to the questions asked should be provided. Test results in% are converted into balls in accordance with RSU Regulation. |
