About Study Course

Objective

To develop students' understanding of the sociological theories, main concepts of social psychology, human socialisation process and the influence of social environment as well as the science of psychology and its relationship to other sciences – human cognitive and emotional sphere and personality.

Preliminary Knowledge

Secondary school knowledge of social sciences.

Students performs analysis of scientific research on psychology topics in the healthcare sector. Student prepares presentation and participates in seminar.

Evaluation criteria:

  • Analysis of the study has been performed, the presentation has been prepared and submitted within a specified time period - 1 point;
  • Participation in a seminar session with presentation - 1 point;
  • Presentation reflects the topic of the study, the topicality and objective of the study -1 point;
  • Presentation reflects the sample of respondents and its characterisation -1 point;
  • Presentation reflects the instruments used in the study and describes the course of the study -1 point;
  • Presentation reflects the results of the study and conclusions -1 point;
  • The results and conclusions obtained in the study are analyzed based on theoretical insights (the theory and literature used by the student are indicated) - 2 points;
  • Describes personal and professional-based benefits -1 point;
  • The presentation meets the 6-minute time limit -1 point.

Analysis of an individual’s life history

Students performs an analysis of an individual’s life path based on Eriksson’s theory of psychosocial development. Student prepares presentation and participates in seminar.

Criterionpoints

  • Analysis of the life history of an individual, presentation prepared and submitted within a specified time period -1 point;
  • Participation in a seminar session with presentation -1point;
  • Presentation reflects the most significant life events, socialisers and risk factors and their impact on development - 2 ponts;
  • The presentation reflects the solution to the crisis of each stage of development and its forming prerequisites - 1 point;
  • Presentation reflects the identified aspects of the personality of the individual -1 point;
  • Presentation reflects the conclusions regarding the socialisation process of the individual - 1 point;
  • Describes the personal and professional benefits of the task1Presentation contains appropriate references to literature sources - 1 point;
  • The presentation respects time limit - 1 point.

Test of theoretical knowledge

At the end of the study course, the student shall perform a theoretical knowledge test on the topics discussed in the study course.
