About Study Course

Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills according to the requirements of the specialty of a geriatrician and related to the rehabilitation of geriatric patients.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Rehabilitation principles, necessity, possibilities. Assessment of the functional status. Assistive technologies and housing adaptation possibilities. Importance of physical activity.

Skills

1.-Use of functional status assessment tools and interpretation of results. -Use of gait and fall risk assessment tools. -Drawing up and discussion of the patient’s rehabilitation plan in the team (geriatrician, rehabilitation therapist, physiotherapist, etc.)

Competences

1.-Able to develop a patient’s rehabilitation plan. -Recommend assistive technologies.
