About Study Course

Objective

Promote the development of the professional competence of students in the organisation and management of swimming teaching and learning, taking into account individual opportunities of learners and compliance with the learning outcomes to be achieved. Enable students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in swimming, also applying theoretical and practical knowledge in sports theory, anatomy, dynamic anatomy, physiology, biomechanics. Understand and use safety regulations at and on water. Orentient in the terminology of basic swimming and sports swimming in English.

Preliminary Knowledge

Prerequisites in dynamic anatomy, physiology, biomechanics. Skills to swim.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Classify, formulate, and justify levels of acquisition of swimming skills: at the initial stage (basic body condition in water, respiratory adjustment); progressive level (use of ease of movement under respiratory control for movement in water); perfect level of swimming skills (automatic execution of swimming movements at respiratory control and adjustment).

2.Methodology for the teaching of techniques and tactics for controlling, regulating and swimming the body in water (teaching methods, teaching aids, teaching classes and forms for organising sports lessons).

3.Formative, summatical assessment and self-assessment in the acquisition of swimming exercises.

Skills

1.Skills to control and regulate: breathing while swimming, body balance in a horizontal position in water.

2.Demonstrate various forms of facilitated swimming (swimming without lifting hands out of the water and swimming patterns (Kraul on his back, Kraul on his chest, brass, butterfly style) and elements of applied swimming (diving, swimming on his side, transporting drowning in the water), swimming start and revs.

3.Practically plan, manage swimming exercises and appreciate learning them to all degrees of teaching.

4.Demonstrate two swimming events according to breathing in the 100 m.

Competences

1.Ability to plan, manage and individualize the learning process in a variety of swimming exercises and playthings, according to all degrees of education. Formulate and apply basic swimming terminology in English.

2.Ability to analyse and evaluate pedagogical means, methods, techniques and means of swimming applied and their conformity with the ability of learners and educational objectives in health-promoting diverse swimming exercises and playthings.

3.Ability to take responsibility for the lesson process and safety in the swimming pool.

4.Ability to develop clear performance and student growth scoring criteria and test types in the acquisition of swimming exercises at all levels of education. Ability to analyze learning outcomes.

5.Ability to identify safety hazards and risks in different environments and situations in swimming, to take preventive safety measures.

Describe and justify various methods and exercises in the teaching of swimming. Swimming events: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly style analysis of movement and breathing technique. All events include imitation movements: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Fly.

Determination and justification of gross errors of swimming elements and swimming events.

A demonstration of the kick movements in all swimming events in the water. Demonstration of machinery movements of all types of pandelion according to breathing in water.
