About Study Course

Objective

Mastering of main movements of outdoor activities – skiing, participating in and leading safe health promoting outdoor winter activities, which are the basis for strengthening physical health, mastering experience, knowledge and skills. Tools and movement methods according to the situation, for identification and prevention of risks choosing personal supplies for yourself and others.

Preliminary Knowledge

Basic knowledge in anatomy, sports physiology, sports biomechanics and ergonomics. Basic skills on cyclical movements (walking, running, walking, swimming).

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The methods, techniques and means of teaching and learning cross-country skiing shall be defined, taking into account an individual approach according to age, gender and level of development.

Video analysis of ski steps and improvement of pitch. Arranging and conducting of ski events.

2.Knows the types of cross-country skiing travel - classification.

1.Demonstrates ways of travelling cross-country skiing: walking in plain and climbing, braking modes, climbing modes, turning modes.

2.Plan and run cross-country skiing classes, events and competitions, subject to safety regulations and outdoor environmental factors, for people of different ages.

3.Is familiar with the technical equipment of cross-country ski materials – equipment, clothing, footwear, selection thereof, preparation of skis for classes, competitions.

Video analysis of ski steps and improvement of pitch.

Analysis of skiing step motion skills (by video). The student performs an analysis of the performance of his or her performance (alternately two-step) and indicates the tasks planned for further skill development. The technical performance and ability to plan exercises for technical improvement are assessed.

Demonstration of types of ski travel.

Demonstration of mobility skills (performance) of modes of movement – to perform a distance/track and to select, according to the terrain, appropriate modes of movement for their level of preparedness: classic steps on the plain and climbs, braking, on-field and on-the-move turns, overcoming obstacles. The technical performance of modes of movement is evaluated.

Arranging and conducting of ski events.

Planning, organising and conducting a winter outdoor activity event (group work). Contingent: pre-school, primary, primary, secondary and special needs students. Activity features - cross-country skiing and winter outdoor activity inventory (sledging, pads, short skis) and features (skiing and skiing skills, snow activities (rolling, throwing, shaping), exercises, motion play and games. Evaluate the student’s skills in organising and conducting a ski event/class.
