About Study Course

Objective

To acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities that are needed for the use of cardio equipment, strength equipment and free weights in health sports training, to develop the skills and abilities to use them in physical training, health promotion and disease prevention.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students will acquire basic knowledge and will be able to describe the cardio and strength fitness application of health sport aerobic in relation to work capacity, increase of musculoskeletal system strengthening, health improvement, injury and various disease prevention.

Skills

1.Students will be able to use the cardio equipment, their programs and tests, suggest appropriate training programs for people of different age groups and fitness levels, use strength training equipment and free weights, recommend appropriate exercises for people of different age and fitness levels in order to strengthen health and reach the set aims.

Competences

1.After the study course acquisition students will have developed skills and will be able to: • Develop recommendations for physical activity and training plan for customers of different age, depending on their state of health, physical fitness levels and set goals by using cardio, strength equipment and free weights in order to promote health and prevent disease; • Educate and convince customers of the need for physical exercise and it`s importance in today's society.

Independently acquire a variety of course topics after lecturer's indicated literature sources. Take care of physical conditional increase and maintenance through cardio and strength training equipment. Develop an individual training program using cardio machines and strength machines

Develop an individual training program using cardio machines and strength training equipment for a specific person, describing the person's readiness and goals.

Cumulative exam. Students' participation in practical classes (20%), ability to use cardio trainers and their programs (10%), ability to show and explain the specifics of exercises with trainers (20%), free weights and dumbbells (20%) during the semester are assessed. Ability to compile a training program for a specific person using cardio machines, strength training machines, free weights and dumbbells, according to the client's physical fitness, health condition and goals (30%).
