About Study Course

Objective

Improve the students' theoretical knowledge and practical skills in rheumatology needed for the specialty of orthopaedic traumatologist.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.The student will be able to: a) name and describe the different types of rheumatic diseases, b) evaluate the necessity and benefits of different examination methods. c) describe and explain the methods of treatment, their significance, results and prognosis, (d) assess the ability to work and predict the course of the disease.

Skills

1.The student will be able to: a) examine patients with rheumatic diseases, assess the manifestation of the disease, and make an accurate diagnosis, b) draw up the necessary investigation plan to clarify the diagnosis, c) interpret the results of clinical tests and radiological examinations, d) select and use the appropriate method of treatment, e) determine the indication for surgical treatment and perform it, if necessary. f) aspirate large joints and administer appropriate medication.

Competences

1.Using the acquired knowledge, will be able to: a) interpret the data obtained from investigations, b) formulate a diagnosis, justifying and explaining it, c) develop a treatment plan, d) analyse the results of treatment, predict the course of the disease and determine the capability for work.
