About Study Course

Objective

The course is designed for cardiology residents to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills about heart rhythm and conduction diseases (etiology, pathology, clinical symptoms, diagnostics, differential diagnoses, treatment methods), electrophysiological examination and treatment methods.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.- etiology, pathology, clinical symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, medical and non-medical treatment of the most important heart rhythm and conduction diseases. - clinical pharmacology of antiarrhythmic agents (including pharmacokinetics and drug interactions). - The essence, indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages of diagnostic and treatment methods for heart rhythm and conduction disorders, proper preparation of the patient for examinations, their possible complications and timely prevention of complications.

Skills

1.- formulate a primary clinical diagnosis based on clinical and physical examination data, be able to draw up an examination plan and perform differential diagnosis for rhythm and conduction disorders. - the ability to create transcutaneous or transvenous temporary electrocardiostimulation systems, - ability to perform acute or planned electrocardioversion, - the ability to independently perform and write a conclusion for the following examinations: Holter monitoring, - ability to assist in permanent EKS implantation surgery.

Competences

1.- draw up an examination and treatment plan for patients with heart rhythm and conduction disorders, - interpretation of the results of electrophysiological examinations in the context of clinical and other additional examinations - formulate indications for non-invasive and invasive electrophysiological examination and interpretation of the obtained data; - formulate indications for invasive corrections of heart rhythm disorders, including radiofrequency catheter ablation; - to formulate indications for the implantation of permanent heart rhythm regulating and diagnostic devices, including pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy devices and electrocardioverters - defibrillators;
