Skills
1.The student will be able to: set congenital cleft diagnosis; set functional disorders; to inform parents and training for patient care (eg. meals); designate appropriate ordinations before surgery and in the postoperative period; assist at primary and secondary operations; to present one clinical case.
Competences
1.The student will be able to formulate a diagnosis of congenital cleft patients with certain types of clefts and explain the associated functional disorders now and in the future. Will use the acquired knowledge to explain to parents functional disorders associated with abnormalities and will provide recommendations for child care. Will be able to draw up a surgical treatment plan for an individual patient and to substantiate it.

Carry out research on the lip and palate clefts etiology, prevalence and classification, of possible prevention, early antenatal diagnosis; principles of treatment, specific characteristics of feeding, depending on the type of pathology; communication with parents, psychological problems; for use of primary and secondary operations methodology and principles; for assessment of treatment outcome.
The periodic scientific literature should be included in the research. Prepare a presentation about surgical treatment and overall treatment outcome on one patient with cleft.

During the course, the student must have a minimum 5 consultations - 10-15 patients in each (20% of the mark).
A presentation for one patients with a lip – the surgery and overall treatment outcome assessment (20%). Assist at primary and secondary clefts reconstruction operations (10 (minimum) -15 operation), and treat these patients in pre- and post-operative period (about 40% in 10 patients, while 15 patients 60%).
