About Study Course

Objective

To provide knowledge of the regularities of genetics and their molecular mechanisms. To acquire basic knowledge of the structural organisation of the genetic material of cells and organisms and its mechanisms of action for further biomedical studies and work after the end of studies.

Preliminary Knowledge

In natural sciences or medicine

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Identify the main toxic (mutation-causing) factors of the genome, assess their danger to human health, based on the acquired knowledge of molecular genetics.

Skills

1.Upon completion of the study course, students will be able to plan and conduct scientific research on the structural organisation of the hereditary material of cells and organisms and its mechanisms of action.

Competences

1.Upon completion of the study course, students acquire skills to analyse and apply individual methods of molecular biology and genetics.
