About Study Course

Objective

To provide students with the opportunity to learn the concepts of self-efficacy and self-regulation and to develop the ability to apply them in their future professional activities.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students define self-efficacy and characterize personality factors, describe the basic principles of social learning theory, identify stress management techniques and the types of social support; describe the relationship between individual behaviour/achievement and self-regulation mechanisms.

Skills

1.Students describe the role of self-regulation and self-efficacy in individual functioning; demonstrate stress management techniques.

1.Students independently develop stress prevention events, that are based on evidence of the association of stress with human health.

An individually developed plan for improving psychological well-being and presenting it in a seminar. Evaluation criteria for an independently developed individual plan: 1. Evaluating the areas of individual life, the problem area and the problem of one's own behavior are formulated, its description is given, describing how it affects the individual's psychological well-being - 1 point. 2. The course of goal formulation is reflected and the result to be achieved is formulated - 1 point. 3. Reflected plan for achieving the goal - 1 point. 4. Described the process of achieving the goal and the result - 1 point. 5. Optionally, one of the self-regulation methods is described and self-reflection on the use of this technique is given - 2 points. 6. 2-4 literature sources are used and use of appropriate references - 2 points. 7. Individual plan presented in a seminar - 2 points.

1. Active participation in practical classes - 10% (All practical classes have been attended, or the processing of the lesson has been submitted within a week after the missed lesson). 2. Development and submission of independent tasks on time - 30%. (Four independent works were performed and submitted on time). 2. Prepared and presented independently developed individual work for the improvement of psychological well-being - 60%. (See seminar description and evaluation criteria).

Annotation: The definition of a goal, its types and significance are discussed. The SMART target method is specifically discussed and is also applied in practice during this study course. Topics covered during the class: In small groups, each student describes / describes his / her goal and desired result for solving a problematic situation for up to 7 minutes. The student describes the desired result as specifically as possible.
